Behind Closed Doors secures a significant National Lottery Grant to combat Domestic Abuse
Filed under: News, PressWe are thrilled to share that Behind Closed Doors, has been awarded a significant grant from The National Lottery Community Fund. This substantial funding will significantly boost our efforts to support women who have escaped abusive relationships, helping them rebuild their lives and look forward to a brighter future. With this grant, we can provide both practical and emotional support, including assistance with personal finance management, child contact arrangements, job seeking, and mental health support.
This funding will also enable us to strengthen our partnerships with other local organisations, such as Shantona Women’s and Family Services and Getaway Girls, to enhance the support available to those in need. Furthermore, we plan to expand our outreach programs and develop new initiatives aimed at prevention and education. We believe that by raising awareness and providing resources, we can help reduce the incidence of domestic abuse in our community. Additionally, we will be investing in training for our staff and volunteers to ensure they are equipped with the latest knowledge and skills to support our clients effectively.
